Do staff live with campers? When should I apply? topWe start hiring in late November. Once we have heard from previous staff who
are planning to return, we know what jobs are available. The earlier you send
us an application, the better your chance of getting a job. If you think you
are too late, please call us at (416) 322-6250 or email us at
info@campwhitepine.com to find out what positions are still available.
How long is the camp season? topStaff training begins in the third week of June, and camp runs until the third
week of August. There are some jobs available in the spring and fall (early May
through September) for staff looking to work longer.
How much will I get paid? topCamp White Pine offers excellent salaries. Your salary will depend on your
position and experience. Bear in mind that camp will provide room and board,
and with the exception of what you spend on days off, you have virtually no
expenses while at camp.
How often are days off? topThere are 6 days off from the time the campers arrive until camp ends. Regular
days off run from 6:00 pm until 5:30 pm the following day. One day off can be
an 'extended' day off, meaning that you can leave camp after lunch and return
at 5:30 pm the next day. We also offer you food to take with you on your day
off.
How old are most of the staff? topMost staff at camp are between 17 and 25. We do have many staff in their late
20's and 30's. Most counsellors and specialists are in University or College
and the average age is about 22. All of our section heads and many head
specialists are university grads and professionals who are able to take the
summer off and come to camp.
Where do most staff come from? topMost of our staff are from Toronto and the Ontario area. We do hire quite a few
staff from across Canada, the USA, Europe, Australia and around the world. Camp
is the ideal place to meet people from all over and make friends on all corners
of the earth.
Do staff live with campers? topCabin counsellors and activity instructors live with the campers. Head staff
and support staff (maintenance, dining room, etc.) live in staff cabins.
