You'll Be Impressed by Our Staff Our staff is one of the reasons that White Pine is special and different from other camps. We believe in the importance of providing your children with individual attention from caring and sensitive counsellors. To help ensure this, our staff/camper ratio is one staff member to two campers. Senior counsellors are university students, graduate students and teachers, all of whom have experience working with children. We look for staff members who are interested in and knowledgable about children. They must be responsible, creative, and have skills and interests that they can share with campers. Our staff receives extensive precamp and inservice training, and regular supervision, which deal with all aspects of living with children and promoting their growth skills and enjoyment. Many staff members return year after year, and are well known by the campers. Our instructors are highly qualified in the safety and instructional aspects of their activity areas. As well, we have a full time doctor and two nurses on staff to ensure the health and safety of all.
