A REGULAR DAY AT WHITE PINE WOULD
GENERALLY FOLLOW THIS PATTERN....

8:00 a.m.
Wake-up and Wash-up
  • (unless it's raining, when we have a half-hour sleep-in).
  • 8:30 a.m. Breakfast
  • everybody eats together
  • 9:00 a.m. Cabin and Area Clean-up  
    9:45 a.m. Round Up
  • campers, consellors and section heads meet to go over the day's activities, evening program, and individual free open choices.
  • 10:00 a.m. 1st Morning Activity
  • usually a cabin choice activity; instructional swim for some groups.
  • 11:30 a.m. 2nd Morning Activity
  • Individual free choice
  • camper must choose an activity.
  • campers get extra instruction at their favourite activity.
  • counsellors accompany campers.
  • "clinics" are held (example baseball, basketball, tennis, waterski, gymnastics, etc.) and innovative "specials" in creative areas (example, crafts, drama, photography, woodshop, etc.)
  • 12:30 p.m. Lunch  
    1:15 p.m. Rest Hour
  • rest, read, write letters (we hope!), play quiet games, listen to music, etc.
  • 2:30 p.m. 1st Afternoon Activity
  • cabin activity
  • 3:45 p.m. Nosh
  • Mid-afternoon snack (milk, cookies, fruit, occasional chocolate bars, etc.)
  • 4:00 p.m. 2nd Afternoon Activity
  • cabin activity
  • 5:15 p.m. General Swim
  • free swim; also free choice period for use of activity areas such as arts and crafts, copper enamel, tennis, waterski, etc.
  • 6:15 p.m. Supper  
    7:15 p.m. Free Play
  • a relaxing time before evening programs.
  • some areas open for skill development.
  • 8:00 p.m. Evening Program
  • section program (game, carnival, treasure hunt, etc.), or "bunk night", or interest clubs, or "drama night" for the entire camp).
  • 9:00 p.m. Snack and Bedtime
  • varies with age group and ending of evening program, but starting at approximately 9:00 p.m. for the youngest sections, up to 10:00 p.m. for the Training Village.

  • We also have special programs occuring at various times during the summer, which include some or all of...

    • Singsongs, bonfires.
    • Quarter day, half day and all day programs.
    • Midnight Specials
    • Plays
    • Campwide games
    • Inter-Camp games (we play host to other camps for fun and sport in tennis, baseball, and swimming)
    • Carnivals
    • Trips: canoe, sail, waterski, climbing etc.
    • Shabbat evening programs
    • Demonstrations and shows (waterski, dance, etc.)
    • And other surprises . . . (if we told, it wouldn't be a surprise!)
